New page

Osborne Racing produced all of their Chasses in-house, including the 4 separate chassis designs that brought them to 5 Constructor's Titles, and 4 Driver's Titles.

Osb15A
Osborne's first Chassis powered them between Season 1 and Season 3. It was significantly less developed than their competitors, both of whom were running on an Octan Chassis. No major updates were applied to their chassis through the first season, while they focused on trying to design a dominant engine, which they finally developed to the Season 4 Regulations. They also developed a stronger Chassis for Season 4.

Osb20Q
Despite all three teams struggling with reliability throughout Season 4, the Osborne Chassis shone, as they utilised every square inch of the car to hug every corner, and powered Osborne to their first Constructor's and Driver's Title, with Kira Sanchez taking the latter after a hard-fought campaign. Because of the repairs in design that had to be made to avoid the reliability issues of Season 4, the teams agreed to freeze Development of the Chassis for Season 5. With their improved engine, they took a second helping of both titles, and Kira Sanchez showed a level of domination that left observers agape: she won every single race, and by more than 10 seconds at each.

Osb25L
Osborne's Season 6 Chassis was head-and-shoulders above the competition once again, and they won their third contiguous Constructor's Title. Sanchez managed to win 5 of the 6 races, but after she hit a piece of debris left on the racing line around a blind turn and took herself out of a race, Eva Sayll went on to win the Title by just 5 points, and without scoring a single career win. Despite losing their third driver's title, Osborne's Chassis clearly was issueless, as they breezed their way to the constructor's victory.

Osb25N
Osborne slowed down work on their Chassis to focus more on engine improvements for Season 7, which seemed only to push them even further forwards overall. Josep Vikalkin managed to overcome his teammate this season, and brought home his maiden title. Osborne took home 4 wins, including one from Michael Osborne's daughter, Avayah. However, looking ahead, they could see the end in sight. Unless they nailed the change in regulations coming into effect for Season 9, and nobody else did, their dominance might be at its end.

Osb26P
Season 8 saw Sanchez win her third title, and Osborne their Fifth Constructor's Title. It was a season for the ages, and their Chassis, which let their cars reach unreasonable speeds on the straights, powered them to a 10-point lead in the final season under the regulations which they had dominated. Sanchez finished just barely ahead of Octan's prized driver, Lily Gasly, cementing her place as an absolutely incredible driver, and perhaps the greatest of all time.

Osb28G
Moving into Season 9, the end of Osborne's dominance was not immediately obvious, as Kira Sanchez, still the best driver in the sport, pushed her car further than thought possible, and took the first race win. She managed another race win that season, but it was clear that the Osborne was not the dominant vehicle. Then, in Race 6, in a twist of fate, she pushed too far, and crashed. Kira Sanchez, the greatest racer of all time, died within a few days. Her boyfriend, Josep Vikalkin, fueled by grief, powered to a decisive victory in the final race of the season, driven in Kira's memory. Osborne had the most wins of any team that season, but they didn't have the best car, that was for sure.

Osb29U
Osborne saw themselves slip further down the pecking order during Season 10, with their newest unreliable engine. Their aero package, which was still designed to focus on high-speed straights, didn't mesh well with the new engine, either, since it's straight line speed was no longer miles ahead of the competition. Sira Bowler still managed to pull out a win in Verskaell, but the team finished fourth overall. Avayah Osborne took her spot as technical officer during this season, and set out guidelines for how every new Aero Package would be made to work with the features of that year's engine. Despite a few hard years, she had a clear vision to return Osborne's chassis and aerodynamics to the forefront of the pack, and lead the way among the racers within the next few seasons.

Osb30G
After Michael Osborne sold his 50% share of the Osborne team to Southern Sports, they chose to replace Avayah Osborne as Technical Officer with Ayn Solka, A talented Engineer, but one who had not worked in FL since Season 3, with National. Unfortunately, her lack of design skills showed through the Vehicle she produced, a car that finished only as high as P13 all season. The vehicle struggled greatly from a variety of problems (not least of which was its accompanying Power Train), and the car finished 6th out of 7 teams, with a net -20 points across the season.

Osb30K
Osborne's final entry into Formula Lego was a horrifyingly bad vehicle - the Osb30K, which suffered 5 Disqualifications over a stretch of 3 races, and was permanently removed from the grid for the final 2 races of the season, and still finished a distant 10th, with -22 points. The car, designed mainly by Solka once again, furthered the problems that the Osb30G had suffered from, and even introduced new ones. The car disappointed many, and even before Southern Sports revealed their intention to sell the team, Michael and Avayah Osborne informed the team that they were not permitted to continue to use the "Osborne" name from Season 14 onwards. So ended the life of one of the most illustrious teams in Formula Lego History.
