== SW-1 ==

For their [[Formula Lego:Season 10|Season 10]] debut, the SW-1 was developed by Silva Engineers, none of whom had experience working on high-speed, high-downforce vehicles. It was (unsurprisingly), extremely underpowered, and suffered in almost every way. The car scored the team -9 points over the season, and produced only one single race in the driver points ([[Salem Hoods]]' 14<sup>th</sup> place in race 6). It was the laughing stock of the paddock and the sport.

Silva's second car was meant to be much more developed, but still performed with similar amounts of terrible-ness. Silva's low budget prevented extensive testing of the car, which in turn led to unexpected problems of ever sort and shape, and their engineer's inexperience also compounded the problems. However, the team's issues were not from lack of effort on their engineer's side. However, their engineers (with a few notable exceptions) were not highly-enough trained. Team Boss Salem Hoods knew this, though. Hoods, a major Shareholder in Silva Racing's parent company (Silva Automotive Motors) knew that the team didn't have the resources to do much better the next season, and knew that Silva would try to sell off the team if that was the case. To try and maximise the chances of the team successfully selling and their employees finding new work easily, Hoods made many visual upgrades to the car to make it look less like a boat, and make it more appealing as a marketable design. These minor tweaks were Silva's biggest gain during their final season.
