Rennian National Cup (Football)
The Rennian National Cup is an annual domestic tournament contested by Rennian Association Football Clubs and Teams across various levels of Competition.
Format
For the Inaugural 239 Competition, the 6 teams which competed in the 238 Season of the ECFL (Karebyr FC, Rennia Imperators, Cagne Beach FC, Osborne Rockets, Qaret Flags FC, and Octan FC) as well as the top-two finishers from the 238 CDPFL season (KF Cagne City, Lakal Football) received an automatic pass to the 2nd Round. The other 4 teams competing in the 239 Season of the ECFL (KF Dobskova, KF Rennia United, KF Vazske UNIS, and KF Stravna City) were placed into one of 8 preliminary groups (leaving no path to a quarter-final game with more than 3 ECFL Teams). RAFC teams were then randomly drawn into all remaining preliminary spots.
History
During the Inaugural Season, Karebyr FC dominated the competition, much as they did the ECFL. After 4 Matches, they ended having scored 15 goals, and conceded only 3, with 2 clean sheets. Cagne Beach FC made a valiant run to Runners-up, going into the final game having scored 3 goals in each of their 3 matches, and having conceded only 2 goals. However, Karebyr shut them down 2-0, scoring in minute 12' and 60'. Karebyr notably never once trailed the entire competition. The AFC's Nova City & The Ancients FC both made remarkable runs, with The Ancients beating two ECFL sides (KF Dobskova & Octan FC) before succumbing 3-1 to Karebyr in the Quarter-Final. KF Nova City beat three consecutive ECFL sides (KF Vazske UNIS, Osborne Rockets, and Rennia Imperators) scoring 6 and conceding just 1 (with 2 clean sheets), en-route to losing in the Semi-Final 3-1 to Cagne Beach, who themselves would lose 3-0 to Karebyr in the Final.
