The Smelly Cabbage Incident was a series of events that turned effectively the entirety of the population of the Empire of the Lego Plains into refugees during the years of 235-236, forcing them to leave Paertica entirely.
SC Procurement of Nuclear Weapons
Nuclear Weapons, at the time held only by a few nations in the world, one of which was the Empire of the Blue Tile House, a pseudo-suzerain of the EotLP & its pseudo-predecessor state the NRR, were deemed a goal of procurement by the Terrorist Organisation Smelly Cabbage at their bi-annual general conference in 233. Over the next year, as the EotBTH's political stability crumbled, deeply embedded operatives of Smelly Cabbage managed to procure access to the launch codes for the entire EotBTH Nuclear Arsenal, which was entirely Mobile IRBMs, which they successfully captured a few months later. After the EotLP army had pushed them out of control of their purported religious homeland (the Garden Regions), they targeted the EotLP for Destruction, giving them 1/3 of a year to evacuate, before they would destroy the EotLP. The EotLP, with significant international help, mobilised and managed to evacuate over 95% of their population. However, due to high levels of internal instability amongst their neighbours (Latian, BBR, Ottenburg), they were refused evacuation into those nations. All three (as well as Mibc) offered to take in varying small amounts of refugees, for which Ren & the National apparatus thanked them, but they still had millions of people left who had to go somewhere.. The EotBTH banned all persons with Irinian, Iselian, or Sinitolan heritage from entering their nation, ejecting or killing suspected violators of their race policy. The EotLP Diplomatic Delegation to the EotBTH was ejected after protesting the policy, and it was increased to forced detainment and execution of those ethnicity. Ren cut all diplomatic communication with the EotBTH, a policy which was upheld not only by his Imperial Successors, but also by the successor state of the United Commonwealth Republic of Rennia. Despite all of Ren’s preparation, and all his strengthening, he couldn’t plan for other’s failures. The neighbouring Regional Superpower (The EotBTH) was the only Nuclear Power in the EotLP’s corner of the world, and they managed to let their entire nuclear stockpile fall into the control of the strange, unusually methodized terror organisation Smelly Cabbage. Then they declared their threats. They wanted all the land that belonged to the EotLP, EotBTH, Ottenburg, BBR, Latian, and all the rest of the nations in the area. They assured the leaders of all the nations that they would not undertake any actions against any citizen or military personnel outside of the land they wanted, but would remain willing to nuke their new land if anyone tried to retake it. Emperor Ren & General Krennic decided that there was no way to strike back at this threat, and chose to evacuate. They gave the order for every one of their citizens to load their most valuable possessions up, and get to the coast in Nova Italia. Then they began to load people onto EotLP Freight and Military Ships. The evacuation began on 2nd of 235. By the 27th of 235, almost every EotLP citizen was safely onto their naval ships, with 99% having been loaded on within the first three days of the evacuation. The only who remained behind had been hired by the government to sack their own homeland, and make sure there would be nothing left for Smelly Cabbage. The government had successfully moved their entire population of around 2,000,000 people onto the 150 Battle Cruisers in their Navy in under twenty-five days. They left their homeland, and travelled around the world, surviving mainly on synthesised food produced by Michael Osborne, for many months. Many believed they would all perish. It certainly seemed that they might. They were landless, homeless, economy-less, and likely would run out of fuel eventually. However, General Krennic made the decision that his country could do well if they resettled in the Balkavanian Archipelago.
