Deurexianism

From Wiki Balkavani

Deurexianism, also known as Legoianism and Catlishism, was a religion widely practiced throughout the Irin region and its surrounding areas. Began by the Legoian God-Emperors, the Catlish Branch started in 23 MT eventually grew to be the more prominent branch during the 169 years that the Catlish Dynasty held power over the Irin.

Origins

The Original Legoian branch of Deurexianism was popularised by the third God-King of the Legoian Empire, Tane, loosely based on several small indigenous religions in the area, borrowing the aspects of the creator, Ceafa; death, Eaforht; the earth, Wyna; the sky, Enged; and Burcyn, the mother of the Kings. He claimed it was a family religion which he had chosen to share where his forefathers and foremothers had not, but modern critics allege that he created the religion to deify himself and prevent uprisings against his rule.

Main Beliefs

The Legoian and Catlish branches of Deurexianism both believe that the universe is made up of Wyna, he who is the earth; Enged, she who is the sky; and Eaforht, he who is death. They are the children of Ceafa the Eternal Creator, and Burcyn, his wife who he created from pure light at the beginning of time. Together they are called the Kena, or the rulers. Although time had already begun, the world did not until Burcyn gave birth to the children of the Kena, which were called the Kearfen. The Kena's first-born son is Wyna, the Earth, their first daughter is Enged, who is the sky, and their youngest son is Helmo, who became Earforht, who is death, after the First War.

After Wyna and Enged were grown, they left their parents, and took each other as lovers, which was seen as unholy by Ceafa and Burcyn, and they were cursed to remain away from their parents for eternity, and became the Earth and Sky, which are apart from the heavens. Enged and Wyna then grew angry at their parents, and to spite them they created the first Men, who were out of the reach of the power of Ceafa and Burcyn. The Men were called Melsni, which means The Lesser. The Kena would not be spited, though, and they brought forth Helmo, who was sent to remind his siblings of their place, and to rule over Men. He was the most powerful of the three Kearfen, for while Men could change the Earth and Sky, Helmo could not be opposed. With this power he brought war to the Earth and sky, and to the Men, who until that point did not die, but lived eternally. But when Helmo brought war, the lives of men were cut short for the first time, and so they named him Eaforht, which is the bringer of tears, which in later years was taken to mean death. The Men tried to make war against him, but they could not damage him. However, Wyna and Enged were enraged at this affront to their independence by their parents. They accused them of attempting to control their children, even though the Kearfen were separate from the Kena, and were not the same. Then they made war on Eaforht along with Men, and they trapped him between the Earth and Sky, and he was unable to go out as the ruler of men, though he could yet kill them while they yet remained between Wyna and Enged along with him. This was the end of the First War.

Furious at their Children for disobeying their direct orders for a second time, the Kena themselves descended between the Earth and Sky, to bring justice to their children and to bring the chaos of Men into order. And despite their rebellion, when the Kena had descended between the earth and Sky, Wyna and Enged did not dare oppose them directly. Ceafa and Burcyn scoured the earth for those who were the holiest among Men, and they discovered the King Valtey and the Queen Tiga, who alone with their followers opposed the Chaos of Men that came from the dissention of Wyna and Enged. And Burcyn took the form of a spirit and took the body of Queen Tiga, who was glad to submit her spirit to that of Burcyn. And Ceafa took the form of a spirit and took the body of King Valtey, but he was brash, and attempted to refuse entry to the spirit of Ceafa into his mind, not knowing who it was. Therefore, to avoid the destruction of Valtey's spirit, Ceafa refrained from breaking his way in, and instead chose to slowly make his way into the mind of Valtey. This endeavour took nigh upon a year for him to accomplish, leaving Valtey in his own mind for much of the time to come. However, Tiga, who was Burcyn, was unaware of this. Thereby, when their first son was born, he was called Kearfeld, he who is a half child of the Kena. Eventually age came for Valtey and Burcyn, who are the Kena, and Helmo, who was then called Eaforht, came for the spirits of Valtey and Tiga. But upon seeing his parents there next to the spirits of the Holy King and Queen, he fell upon his face and begged for mercy, for he had failed his assignment. But the Kena are graceful, and they granted him pardon, but would not let him leave the prison between Wyna and Enged until they had repented. But to him the name of Eaforht they used not, refusing for him to be called the Bringer of Tears by his own parents, and instead called him still Helmo, which is his name. They tasked him to continue to cut short the lives of Men, before the final war with Wyna and Enged. To this Helmo, who is called Eaforht, agreed, and then he released the Spirits of Valtey, Ceafa, Tiga, and Burcyn. But the spirits of Valtey and Tiga did not remain between the Earth and Sky as did other Men's, but instead ascended away from Earth and Sky along with Ceafa and Burcyn. He who was the son of all four, Kearfeld, then took the mantle of the King, and he named Burcyn as his mother, alongside the names of his parents who had been Man. Therefore, he was called Delnar, which is two-mothers. Since then, Burcyn has also been called Elnym, which is Mother of Kings. Delnar became the first God-Emperor, and he waged war against the Chaos that Melsni festered between the Earth and Sky, creating the Legoian Empire. He took Anlera as his Queen, and together they were named by the Kena alongside the parents of Delnar as the Norsa, or the greater, for they were greater than the Melsni, who were the lesser. Together Delnar - who was named by his mother as Kearfeld - and Anlera waged war against the Chaos of the Kearfen and Melsni, and formed the first Empire. This was the Second War. And when Helmo, who is called Eaforht, came for their spirits, they did not either remain between Earth and Sky, but rather ascended to be with those who were their parents.

Legoian Branch

The Legoian Branch of Deurexianism traces their genealogy through Eadund, the firstborn of Delnar and Anlera, whereas the Catlish branch takes their genealogy from Delvirn, the second son. The genealogy of the Legoian Monarchs can be traced through hundreds of years, from the very beginning of the Legoian Empire, which the Legoian branch believed was the object of peace and stability in a world and sky of chaos. Although the Catlish believed this too, they claimed that Delvirn had the right to the throne rather than Eadund, since Eadund had killed the youngest child of Delnar and Anlera, Vilan, thereby invalidating his claim to the throne. The genealogy of God-kings and their associated beliefs are listed below.

Catlish Branch

The Catlish Branch, which was popularised by William I of Catlish, who traced himself as the rightful heir to Delvirn, claimed that by killing his brother (Vilan), Eadund had negated his claim to God-hood and the throne of the Legoian Empire. After the War of Legoian Succession, William I held the largest part of the Empire, and named himself the first God-Emperor of the Irinian Empire. Due to his empire's size and larger population, the Catlish Branch of Deurexianism began to overtake the Legoian Branch as the predominant form of Deurexianism, even in the shorter time that the Catlish dynasty was in power. Because they were not the Legoian Kings, whether legitimately or not, those between William I and Delvirn were never considered as Norsa.
