Season 2 began on the first day of 245, and Vance Lewison won the first race by a record 1:22.4, which would set the tone for the Season, where he eventually won 3 races. Defending champion Salem Hoods put up a ferocious struggle, though, and ended the season only 5 points shy of Lewison’s 360. Osborne’s Josep Vikalkin also shot up the ranks, coming in 3rd overall, another 5 points behind Salem Hoods, giving only a 10-point range across the top 3 racers.

Season Progression

Lewison took the win at the first, third, and fourth races, while Vikalkin won the second and fifth. Salem Hoods swept up their remains, taking the win at the final race of the season. Lewison kept a lead over Vikalkin, although Vikalkin kept himself within striking distance throughout the whole Season.

At the beginning of the 6th race, Lewison had a solid lead of 360 points to Hoods’ 280 and Vikalkin’s 300, meaning that Vikalkin had a chance to take the title, while Hoods could only reach 2nd. Vikalkin’s chance came in the 3rd lap, when Lewison lost a tire on the hairpin turn, and was forced to retire from the race. Vikalkin shot up to first place, and maintained the position until the 60th lap, when his engine began to experience some fuel flow issues, and he fell to 6th place by the end of the race, ending his Title hopes for the time being, but leaving him in a respectable 3rd place.

Michael Osborne once again said that, as soon as their Drivers were good enough, their superior hardware would be able to show how incredible it really was. Kai Octan consistently reminded him that his top racer was 3rd. This season, however, Osborne's point about "growing into the hardware" was confirmed, since both his and Octan’s team’s amassed 19 Constructor points, causing the Constructor’s Title Champion to be decided on Podium Countback to be decided by the number of podiums each team had. With 13 Podiums to Osborne's 12, Octan took their consecutive Constructor's Title.

Technical Details

Osborne ran Season 2 on the Osb15A Chassis, and the OsbA20C Power Unit.

Octan ran on the OE20C10 Chassis and the UX3 Engine.

National fielded the OE20C10N Chassis and the UX3N Power Unit.

All three teams continued with the same Chassis as they had from Season 1, according to the agreement the teams had come to, that they would only design one chassis to race between Seasons 1 - 3.
