Jacob Norris
Jacob Harrison Norris is a former Formula Lego driver, who raced for Osborne in Formula Lego for 9 seasons.
He raced with Osborne under the number 3-3
Early Life
Jacob Norris was born on the 27th of 227, in what had been, just a day before, the NRR. His Family moved to Nova Terra, where he began driving at a very young age. He entered into his first Motor race at age 6, in a local karting event, which he won. He drifted away from racing for the next few years, until the Smelly Cabbage Incident, after which his family resettled on Cagne Island, next to the local Karting Track. He joined the Karting League, and quickly rose through the ranks, until he joined the Karebyr Stock Cup at age 15. He was a multiple-time race winner, and was approached by Michael Osborne, and offered a test drive for his new Formula Lego team. He timed 3rd overall, and was signed on as the 3rd Osborne driver.
Early Years (Season 1 - 3)
His first season was moderately successful, as he finished 4th within the team, and 18th overall, with a highest finish of 12th in Race 5. He was unquestionably kept on for Season 2, which was already confirmed, since he had a two-year contract.
Norris stepped up hugely during Season 2, alongside Osborne, which also took a huge step forward technically. He finished 5th overall, with a Podium at Race 3, and finished second within the team, behind only Josep Vikalkin.
Season 3 started with high hopes for Norris, as he was projected to finish within the top 5 drivers once again, but after getting involved in the crash that ended with Natasha Hughes' death, Norris was injured, and missed three of the season's six races, and went to finish only P13 overall, and P5 within Osborne.
Osborne Dominance (Season 4-8)
Season 4 saw the beginning of a huge stretch of Osborne-led dominance, and Norris showed the potential he had to be a great driver, and seemed a legitemate title contender, as he started out the "Did Not Start" riddled season with a Pole, which he converted to a P2 podium, right behind teammate Josep Vikalkin. However, despite scoring another Pole, and Podium at Race 4, two DNSes across the season crippled his title hopes, and he finished P8 overall, and P3 within Osborne, behind both Vikalkin, and rookie Kira Sanchez, who clinched a tight title in a close fight with Salem Hoods and Vance Lewison.
During Season 5, Norris performed at a very high level once again, DNFing only once, and finishing in the points at every other race, bringing him home to P7 overall, and once again finishing P3 within Osborne, once again behind Sanchez and Vikalkin.
Scoring his 4th and final podium during Season 6, Norris hit what would retrospectively be one of the highlight seasons of his career, even though it didn't seem so at the time. His opening race pole, and strong defence against Sanchez nearly broke her incredible winning streak, but he eventually succumbed to her relentless driving, and finished P2 behind her. He followed up with several strong, but not title-challenging race results, and seemed on course to score another podium at Race 3, until the crash that ruined Sanchez' title hopes took him with it. However, he still finished a remarkable P5 overall, and once again found himself P3 within Osborne.
Season 7 was arguably one of Osborne's more dominant, despite the lack of pure result dominance, but Norris struggled to keep up, and finished with a highest result of P8 at both Races 4 and 5, and finished the season P10 overall, and P4 within Osborne, falling behind Avayah Osborne in the standings as well.
Norris' true fade began during Season 8, as he seemed to lose some motivation now that his chances at victories and titles seemed gone, and he finished P10 overall once again, but with less points, and P4 within Osborne once again. He began to publicly express interest in potentially retiring after Season 8, even though many loyal fans still believed he had what it took to take the top step.
Retirement (Season 9)
Season 9, which proved Norris' last, was abysmal as far as results were concerned, as he finished outside of the points three times, a feat he had never done before, and had a season high finish of P6 at Race 6, where 7 of the front-runners crashed out, in what would become a fatal crash for Kira Sanchez. He finished P13 overall in the points, and P5 within Osborne, as Sira Bowler also swept past him in the standings. After the emotional loss of his friend and rival, Kira Sanchez, in addition to his lack of motivation and feelings of ineptitude, Norris announced his retirement just after the Season Finale in Rennia, and left the public eye, for the most part, although it is known that he sought out counselling over his harangued emotional state.
