Driver Test Races were events that were held semi-officially to rate potential drivers for Formula Lego. For the first several seasons, each team held them independently, but, starting with the selection process for Season 3, all the teams together held a single event, with a few exceptions. While technically a set of four races, the final results also had qualifying results, and tire degradation factored in.
Season 1
The selection process for Season 1 drivers mainly consisted of Driver Test Races, apart from a few drivers who negotiated contracts by themselves with Osborne. Each of the three teams held their own independent events to find racers. Several potential drivers competed in several different selection races (most notably Nocah Tsunoda, who came first in both Osborne's and National's races).
Season 2
Octan did not hold Driver Tests during Season 2, as all 10 of their drivers had been hired on 2-year contracts.

Season 3
For the first time, in Season 3, all three teams held one unified Driver test race, with all drivers driving a generic, Standard-Issue EotLP Jr. Karting Series kart. With a few, monetary exceptions, it was agreed that none of the teams could hire more than one driver who scored in the Top Three finishers.
